I hope you had a nice weekend and started well into the week 😊 we are working at full throttle and preparing for the next 3.5 weeks. So far, we are really satisfied with the Kickstarter campaign. We have reached in less than a quarter of the time more than a third of the sum of the last campaign. That’s nice! Of course, at the moment we are taking smaller steps than at the very beginning, but this is normal for a KS campaign. We fight every day to push the ship a small step further, because without this work in the background nothing would move at all.
Over the weekend we cracked the 60’000 CHF, that’s wonderful, because the stretch goal “The Last Dinosaurs” was unlocked. Thank you to all of you! With this Stretch Goal many very interesting bird species will be included in the game! For example, the Kea, which destroys everything with its beak, the Steller’s Sea Eagle (the heaviest eagle in the world) and the Pin-tailed sandgrouse, which absorbs water for its children with its feathers. The world of animals is simply unbelievably fascinating. Which of the unlocked species do you find the most exciting?
With this stretch goal, the next poll was unlocked 😊 The ballot boxes are open until tomorrow Tuesday 24:00 (CET). It’s 100% up to you which of the following three flying dinosaurs will be drawn by Rozenn as a head card.
(A) Tupandactylus (B) Pterodaustro (C) Caulkicephalus
(C) and (A) have very exciting teeth, which are master pieces of evolution and refer to their diet. (A) had a huge skin comb on its head, which many of you will like (I’m sure). Soon the Stretch Goal “Introduction” will be reached, this will nicely upgrade the encyclopedia, since all 6 animal classes will receive their own introduction page. After this it’s one of my favorite Stretch Goals’ turn, “Ultimate Defense”, these animal species really deserve this name!
One of many things we did over the weekend was the design of our Facebook ads for the next weeks. Last week we did a “split test” where you test in different groups with different ads. Now we know quite precise which our target group is, and which ads worked best. Now we have designed similar ads to these that worked best. With 2 of these 3 we will advertise this week 😊 What do you think of our designs, do you like them? I am looking forward to your feedback.
Furthermore, every support from you is truly most appreciated! 😊 Of course, the end of the campaign is still far away and there is no time pressure yet, nevertheless your help is already very important for us. And there are small things that help us a ton.
1) Write us a comment every day (or every few days), then we know that we are not “alone”.
2) Talk in Board Game Facebook Groups and other forums about us and our project.
3) Organize 2-3 friends who want to join your pledge. The content of each pledge can be doubled and tripled, the shipping costs (per content) decrease quite a bit i.e. it’s a win-win 😊 (you can see the exact numbers in the “Rewards” section of the KS campaign).
4) Give us tips 😊 e.g. which FB groups/forums/blogs are from your perspective important in the area of evolution, dinosaurs, sustainability, carbon neutrality, animal encyclopedias etc. Tell us, where we have to go. We will then do the work all by ourselves.
Thanks anyway, it’s an honor to have you as part of our crew! The position as 1st mate is still vacant, now nobody has claimed it yet ;D
By chance I found a small KS campaign over the weekend – “A Science-Based Children’s Book On Life’s Evolution” (here the LINK). If you remember my last campaign, you might remember that I supported a previous campaign of the same creator (and also talked about it in an update). It’s a funny coincidence that we’re both on Kickstarter again at the same time. I think this author’s children’s book series, his name is Jospeh Becker, is very exciting. It addresses important topics that other children’s books don’t address and all books are beautifully illustrated.
This Thursday we are in Zurich’s only board game coffee shop, the “Du bisch dra” (translated from Swiss German to English – ” It’s your turn”). There we have a small challenge 😉 Whoever wins against me in a game of Darwin’s Choice receives a free signed copy of the base game. I do my best to keep all copies of Darwin’s Choice XD no mercy for my opponents!
Have a nice week and “read” you soon,
With best regards,
Marc, Elio and Samuel
