I hope you had a nice week! It’s time again for an update from my site. Let’s start…
Today we have reached the 90’000 CHF, many thanks to everyone for the ongoing support!!! You are an amazing crew! It is a real honor to have you on board! Now we’re heading together for the 100’000 CHF 😊 We still have about two weeks ahead of us, I’m really curious how far this journey will go. We continue to give our best!
Before we talk about the Stretch Goal we just reached, a look back. In the last update you had the chance to vote if you want (A) Rough-skinned newt or (B) Cane Toad in the game. Here are the results:
(A) Rough-skinned newt 66% – (B) Cane Toad 34%
Congratulations to team Newt, your candidate has won the race and will be beautifully drawn by Rozenn. To team Toad, you have fought bravely and given your best, thanks for this! Your candidate will now be placed on the proposal list, where it may get another chance 😉 Now enough of the look back, let’s look forward. With the new Stretch Goal a new poll has been unlocked and there are again two excellent candidates to choose from. I proudly present you…
(A) European Hedgehog and (B) Bombardier Beetle
Now it’s up to you to decide which of these two fantastic animal species you want as a Small Body Card in the game. I’m very excited about the outcome of this race. The voting ballot is open until Saturday 12:00pm (CET), please write your vote into the comment section below this update or send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the next three days we will present Darwin’s Choice at the Convention “Herofest” in Bern. Today we prepared our booth and are happy with the result (see below). Unfortunately, we couldn’t take our Pirilliaphant statue (“Darwin”) with us this time. The effort would have been too big. The transport of such a gigantic statue is not to be underestimated, it needs a big van and takes hours. Even without it the perfect preparation of the booth takes 4-5 hours, i.e. afterwards you are simply knocked out. Now we are looking forward to the next three days. If things go well, we should also welcome some new backers in our Kickstarter crew, because we also have three handmade prototypes of the expansion with us! I’ll be happy to tell you how things went at the convention in my next update. Tomorrow Friday we don’t expect too many people at our booth, Saturdays or Sundays are always much busier. In addition, we don’t know yet if our location is good or bad xD Tomorrow we will see how the visitors walk through the halls and will then know if we are in a highly frequented location or not. We hope for the best!
Small side note: Sorry in advance that we will answer your comments a little slower than usual in the coming days due to the convention. An answer within 24h is of course still guaranteed, but an answer within a few minutes/hours probably not.
And what else do we do? xD On the one hand, we continue to “polish” the campaign page. There are always details to adjust. Yesterday I adjusted the shipping costs and “add 2/3 copies” section. With that everything should be a bit clearer for you. Now you can see exactly how many shipping costs you save per additional bundle/product. We made this change after the input of a backer. Your feedback is really important to us and we always take it seriously. Tips and suggestions are always welcome, don’t worry, there are no “stupid” tips! In addition, we write a ton of emails to paleontology Facebook groups, dinosaur YouTube channels, nature conservation organizations, newspapers, evolution Instagram channels, natural history museums, etc. This is important, because if we get shout outs from such people on social media, we reach a lot of people who might be interested in Darwin’s Choice 😊 The more people we reach, the higher the chance that we find people who love Darwin’s Choice and therefore will back it. So, if you have any suggestions who we should write to, just let us know. Every tip helps us! Thank you so much in advance.
Now a little goodie for the end of this update… I found this very small campaign on Kickstarter “Resketch Note – eco-friendly scratch paper” (Here the LINK). It’s ecological note paper, which is cut from paper scraps/recycled paper. The idea is small, smart and not too expensive. I don’t think I will personally back such a note pad, because shipping this sustainable note pads to Switzerland would be ecological nonsense. But if you are from the USA and like little sustainable projects, these note pads are perfect for you 😊 absolutely recommendable! Kickstarter is like a big chest from the attic, sometimes you find a small hidden pearl 🙂
Now I wish you a great Friday and a wonderful weekend! And thanks again for everything (especially for reading this update)!
With best regards,
Marc, Elio and Samuel
