This week’s update is a bit special as I, Samuel, am writing it and not Marc as it is usually the case. The reason is fairly simple. Marc has finally allowed himself a few days of holidays and asked me kindly to take over his weekly obligation. There is hardly someone that comes in my mind which deserves those holidays more than him. He is one of the hardest working persons I have ever known so far 🙂 In this spirit, I wish you a very nice vacation Marc!
For those who don’t know who I am and what I do. I’m in charge of many things in the background such as designing the rule book, social media, organizing events, to write updates in case Marc is absent (it seems) and many more tasks 🙂 I and Marc are working very closely together, are constantly exchanging a lot of ideas and I think those are also the moments where we really shine as a team, the source of many smart decisions we made in the past and hopefully will do in the future as well.
About this week’s wrap up:
Ludofact, our producer, contacted us at the beginning of the week and we were able to send them all our production files. Before we sent them out, we checked every important part of the documents once again. I don’t even remember how often we reviewed the files, but I can promise you we worked extremely precise and did everything we could to not miss any detail. Consequently, everything is on track and we are happy to be able to concentrate on other things again in the meantime 🙂 One additional positive message concerning Darwin’s Choice. The Brazilian Portuguese translation has been completed and I will start the implementation into the existing layout in the course of the next week. On this occasion a big thank you to all people who were willing to participate in the translation of Darwin’s Choice in various languages! All additional translations will be steadily uploaded on our website, where you can download them at any time.
At the beginning of the week me and Marc took also the time to reorganize everything. We made a general plan for the next 5 months and divided up who exactly takes care of what. There is a lot of work ahead of us, but we are both positive that we can have a successful year if we keep working hard 🙂 This week I was mainly focused on updating our website/online shop. I exchanged all pictures with the new final artwork and adjusted the text passages, so everything corresponds to the actual state again. Along with that I took care of the application of two conventions, made my social media plan for the next 3 months and replied to many mails (Though I’m glad I don’t get as many as Marc does!).
New series of pictures for our social media accounts.
Meanwhile this week Marc has focused on the compilation of the document for Rozenn for the extension “Darwin’s Choice – Before and After”. So that she knows as early as possible what she has to draw. It’s quite possible that you will be confronted with some beautiful artwork in the next update already, let’s see 😉 The second product, the encyclopedia is also taking shapes. A good colleague of mine who has also studied biology and is very supportive in our project will help us to collect the information about the animals for the encyclopedia starting next week.
We do so many things within a week that it is sometimes difficult to summarize up the most important points. I almost forgot one last thing, which you might be interested in. The upcoming weekend (9th – 10th February) we will be part of the Luzerner Spieltage. It’s a small board game convention in Lucerne, Switzerland, which we have attended last year. It was very well organized, and we are looking forward being part of it with Darwin’s Choice again. So, if you have time and want to meet us you are more than welcome to join the convention 🙂
If I already have the chance to talk to all of our backers, I also want to take a moment and mention that the whole team is extremely grateful for your positive messages. Even though Marc is the corresponding person it makes all of us very happy to hear them and all of us read every single comment. It makes the hard work appreciated and is motivating to work even harder. So big Thank you to that!
Otherwise there is nothing left than wishing all of you a great week! By the way the next update will be written by Marc again. I hope I didn’t make you miss him too much 😉
With best regards,
Samuel, Elio and Marc
